MTV is bringing back “Mud” to the network for its fourth season, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
“Mudds” returns for its second season on April 13 at 9 p.m.
ET on MTV.
MTV also confirmed that “Muds” will premiere on April 14 at 9 a.m., 10 a.l.c. on MTV2.
The network also confirmed a third season, and added a fourth, “Muddy Waters.”
“Mud’s” return comes amid an unprecedented wave of nostalgia for “MUDs” on MTV, which were the last two-hour, 30-second-long shows to air before MTV was bought by Viacom for $8 billion in 2014.
MTV’s last two “MUTVs” were on March 11 and March 14, 2019, the latter ending in a close-fought final 15-minute battle.
In a statement to MTV News, a Viacam spokesperson told the publication that MTV’s decision to bring back “muds” was “a long-overdue move that was made for the best.”
“This is a tremendous honor for MTV and a true reflection of the loyal fans who have been waiting for this day,” the spokesperson said.
“We look forward to the opportunity to bring the ‘MUD’ family back for a third time in the spring.”
The last “MUTE” was produced in 2017 by “MINDHUNTER” star Sam Bell and will air on MTV starting April 3.
“mutes” premiered on MTV in 2015, and was a collaboration between Bell and his “Mindhunter” co-star J.K. Simmons.
